Wooooot! Just a warning, I will abuse the use of the word ‘love’ here. So yeah :)
Calatagan: A 4-day Escape from the City Stress!
So yeah. Awesome experience is awesome. I fell in love with Calatagan’s amazing place and amazing people. I just want to stay there forever. Hahaha. But NO. Reality is calling me.
Here’s number of things that I love about this trip:
1. My Calatagan Buddies. I went there with 3 awesome people - Jorge, Sammie and Teresa. ‘nuff said :))
2. Very welcoming people. It was a small village and most people there are related. When we arrived there, the people are all greeting us and smiling to us. I expected that because that’s a Filipino thing. But I was just really amazed and happy =) And Oh, let me not forget Nanay Edi, Tatay and their youngest son, Kuya Edmund. I really felt at home in my 4-day stay at their house. I love how they treat us. And also Tatay Jun and everyone else there (I’m not really good at remembering names. Haha). Yeah, they’re all welcoming and I love it.
3. THE KIDS AND THEIR ENERGY. Upon arriving there, the kids approached us right away. They really like to play ALL DAY and I really don’t know where do they get all the energy they have. But I love it. I became one of the kids. I learned some of their games - the gigs, london bridge version of rock-paper-scissors and this modified tag game (I forgot how it’s called). All the body pains, the sweat and the dirt I had after playing with the kids are all worth it. I love seeing the smiles in their faces. I’m happy because they’re happy that we went there. They were telling us to come back. Of course, we will. I would love to come back there.
4. Danggit. I love our food there. Danggit, egg, corned beef, hotdog, ham & everything else :))
5. The Pulo. There’s this small island that they go to when they want to go swimming or fishing (I think). It was such a lovely and peaceful island.
6. I became an interpreter :)) Yes, I love being an interpreter. Not very good in using the English language but I’m happy I was able to bridge the gap between my friends and the natives there.
7. The Jellyfish-attack experience! Hi Jorge! :))
8. First time experiences. It was my first time in Batangas. First time in experiencing province life. First time staying up late by the seashore and just having a nice, fun and kind of deep conversation with a friend. First time to ride a bangka. First time to stay overnight in a very small but beautiful island and waking up seeing such a beautiful sunrise. First time to drink Emperador Light. And a lot more first times! Yeah, I love first times.
9. Overnight at the Pulo with the Kuyas. Having a drinking session is indeed more fun in the Philippines. Kuya Jeffrey Aquino, you embody a true Filipino drinker \m/ Haha. And I’m proud of myself because even though I know that I’m a little bit drunk (I’m not used to drinking brandy! Haha), I still manage to have a nice conversation with Kuya Vic and Kuya Edmund.
10. The province night sky. ‘Twas so clear. I love seeing the stars. And yeah, I saw 2 shooting stars during our first 2 nights there. FUN AND AMAZING :D
11. The sunrise and the sunset.
12. Basketball! It was fun playing basketball with Jorge and the kids although the sun is literally burning us while we are playing.
13. Going to the ocean late at night. Our bad. We did not tell them that we’re going to the ocean so they thought we were lost. And so they have to find us. But yeah, the ocean was great, our conversation was great :D
14. The breeeeeeeeeze.
15. Simple living at its finest. I really love seeing how the people there enjoy their simple life. I would love to experience a life like that. I’m tired of this city life. But yeah, we are people who are always not contented so I think if ever I lived a life like that, I will keep searching for more.
16. Taking a shower. After playing all day with the kids, taking a shower feels so much better. Best. Feeling. Ever. Haha. Kidding. I mean, one of the best feelinngs ever. :)
17. Silent night is silent :)
18. Clean air :)
19. Trees everywhere. I love trees.
20. AND MANY MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE :D
But yeah, I should have brought a nice camera. But it’s ok. All the experiences I had there will always be in my heart. Teehee~ :))
Ok. Back to life… now.
